At Malloy Insurance in Stamford, CT, we are a family-owned, independent insurance agency with a wealth of knowledge in the industry — and the experience to back it up! Our History

It was 1945, post WWII when William “Bill” Malloy Sr “retired” from Bullard Manufacturing as the war effort came to a close. With a young, growing family (soon to be 8 children), Bill took to selling life insurance for John Hancock.

Back in the day, premiums would be collected weekly, and often agents would go door-to-door to collect them. This is when Bill met a more seasoned insurance professional, Mr. Bob Mulrooney. Bill and Bob became fast friends. It wasn’t long before Bill became a managing partner and Mulrooney–Malloy Agency began. Eventually, Bob’s health started to fail, and Bill bought the agency from his longtime friend and continued the Mulrooney–Malloy legacy until the next generation of Malloys joined their father.

The business name changed to Wm F Malloy Agency Inc in the 1960s and Bill had new partners including some of his children such as William F Malloy Jr.

By 1976 we had outgrown our space and needed more room for parking. We moved from downtown Stamford, 300 Main Street to our current location, 87 Glenbrook Rd, Stamford, CT 06902.

It is now the next century, and the insurance tradition continues to live on with the 3rd generation of Malloys. Suzanne and Matthew have joined their father just as Bill Jr, joined his father.
